How Group Counselling Works
It’s important that we know the group is an appropriate and supportive space for you. We will assess your needs and goals prior to attending a group.
The second step in group counselling is an orientation session where you will be introduced to the group and the facilitator. This session provides an opportunity to understand the group’s purpose, guidelines, and confidentiality agreements. You will have the chance to share a bit about yourself and your reasons for joining the group.
During each group session, the facilitator will guide discussions and activities designed to promote reflection, understanding, and growth. Topics may vary depending on the group’s focus but often revolve around shared challenges, interpersonal dynamics, and personal development. Group members will have the opportunity to share their experiences, listen to others, and offer support and feedback.
This session allows group members to reflect on their experiences throughout the sessions and acknowledge their personal growth and insights gained. It provides a space to celebrate achievement, growth, and connections.
